I rode the MS-150 this past weekend a had a great time. The volunteers really go all out to make sure that the riders have a good time. I did the century route on both days. My wheel sensor was not working so I don't know the rolling time, but the clock time for the centuries was 6:00 the first day and 7:35 the second day.

Bought another bike

I picked up my new bike today. It's a road bike--a Trek Pilot 2.1. It will take a littlw whiel to get used to the new position, STI shifters, and clipless pedals.

How I lost a ton of extra weight (literally)

I sold my car today. I had been considering this since I started bicycle commuting. I put the car up for sale a couple of weeks ago and finally sold it. People think I'm crazy.

First Century

I did my first century today. It was the AYH flat as a pancake century. I didn't drink enough water (the last rest stop was out) so the last 10 miles were tough.

mileage 106.90
rolling time 7:41
clock time: 9:16

Preparing for a century

I did a training ride today to prepare for my century next month. I originally planned to go 75 miles but I had some trouble with the route. Next time I need to take more plain water. Ran out of plain water before I ran out of Gatorade. Need to think about what sort of food to bring; maybe some sort of salty snack. I also need to be more careful applying sunblock. I missed some areas and got some sunburn.

Mileage: 92.5 miles
Rolling time: 6:55:47
Clock time: 8:40

I started logging my mileage on BikeJournal.com. This is a very good site for recording mileage as well as getting advice from other cyclists.
